The Fantastic Four: First Steps devoured its box office competition this weekend. Unfortunately, it’s coming in a little less than projected domestically. This Deadline article (Sunday AM section) gets into the factors at play.

Rebecca Romijn not sure she’s done filming Doomsday—“They haven’t finished writing it”: As an A-type person, I have to say this approach borders on insanity to me, but the recent Feige interviews shed some light on it: He says Marvel Studios movies do have finished scripts going into production, but they are tweaking them throughout their process since he’s never satisfied with them and would like to include actor suggestions and make other changes.

Benedict Cumberbatch viewed 5 meals/day to support his Dr. Strange workout regimen “horrific.” The guy seems concerned with sustainability and resources, so the meals and endless high-protein snacks went against his values. He seems to love making the movies, regardless.

Sacha Baron Cohen’s new bod. Speaking of body transformations, the new Mephisto has pulled off one of his own that’s on full view in Men’s Fitness U.K. He shared that the photos weren’t AI enhanced, and that he really was “egotistical enough to do this.”

Pedro Pascal hated his clean-shaven look for Wonder Woman 1984. Mr. Fantastic won’t go without facial hair again if it’s up to him, adding the look of the characters in Fantastic Four: First Steps was a “collaborative” process.

*The homage to 60s folk music with ear-worm “Let Us Be Devoured”, which played over the First Steps credits, is so good. It served as a nice additional nod to the brief mention of the Galactus cult during the movie:

“Starving for comfort

Starving for peace

Let us be whole

Let us be, let us be

Let us be devoured”
